How do I care for my leather furniture?
How do I care for my leather furniture?
Leather is a high-quality natural product that, depending on its quality, can be subject to a more or less visible natural aging process. The better and more professionally the leather is cared for, the fewer changes or signs of wear will occur, which are undesirable or could impair the lifespan of the piece of furniture.
General care
Protect from direct sunlight and light. Direct light sources can bleach the leather colors.
The right care products
For cleaning and care, use only our leather care kit, which is specially formulated for our leathers, and follow the cleaning and care instructions included. Please note the specific care instructions for the various de Sede leather qualities.
Where can I buy de Sede care products?

What should I never use for cleaning or care?
What should I never use for cleaning or care?
Never use solvents such as stain removers, turpentine, or gasoline. Also, avoid shoe polishes or floor waxes. For proper cleaning and care, we recommend the de Sede Leather Care Set, which is specifically designed for de Sede leather. Please note that these products are not suitable for NATURALE, ARTISANO, or CASHMERE leather.
What do I need to consider when using the de Sede leather care set?
What do I need to consider when using the de Sede leather care set?
Before you begin cleaning and care, you should test the product on an inconspicuous area. Never apply it directly to the leather. First, pour the product onto a clean, soft cloth. Then apply it gently and extensively from seam to seam – do not rub too hard. If the cloth is heavily stained by the leather dye rather than the dirt, the product is unsuitable. Cleaning should always be done on a large area and never in a spotty area. Please also follow the manufacturer's instructions on the products. If in doubt, consult a specialist.

Regularly dust the entire furniture with a soft, slightly damp cotton cloth. If the water is too hard, boil it first or use distilled water. Important: Do not use microfiber cloths!

Generally speaking, the fresher the dirt, the easier it is to remove. For more severe soiling, you should consult a leather specialist.
How do I care for LIVING, SELECT, TOUCH, CLUB, NECK, COLORAL leather?
How do I care for LIVING, SELECT, TOUCH, CLUB, NECK, COLORAL leather?
- Clean with «Leather Cleaner»
Shake the bottle before use. Apply a small amount of Leather Cleaner to the included sponge and press repeatedly to create a foam. Now clean the leather extensively, from seam to seam, without applying pressure, area by area. Only when the leather is completely dry should the seating be treated with Leather Protector. Leather Cleaner is formulated for all types of smooth leather. For non-de Sede leather, test for compatibility on an inconspicuous area.
- Care with «Leather Protector»
Leather Protector restores moisture to leather, keeping it soft, supple, and color-rich. Apply Leather Protector after cleaning the leather with Leather Cleaner (allow the leather to dry thoroughly). Shake the bottle, apply sparingly to the enclosed cloth (never directly onto the leather), and rub in a little. For non-de Sede leather, test for compatibility on an inconspicuous area. Apply the cream generously to the leather, using circular motions from seam to seam. Do not rub vigorously.
Caution: Keep out of reach of children.
Stain removal: Immediately absorb spills from the surface with an absorbent cloth or paper. Allow to dry; do not rub.
How do I care for NATURALE leather?
How do I care for NATURALE leather?
Only clean this leather with a damp cotton cloth. If the water is too hard, boil it first or use distilled water. After cleaning, treat any remaining light surface stains with the dry NATURALE cleaning sponge by rubbing the soiled area thoroughly, applying light pressure.
Important: do not use microfiber cloths!
Cleaning and care:
First clean or moisten the surfaces with distilled water and let the surfaces dry again.
For heavily soiled areas or scratches, use the NATURALE cleaning sponge. Apply light pressure in one direction, cleaning the entire surface from seam to seam.
Now rub the entire surface with a cloth (to remove granular residues).
Immediately remove any liquids from the leather with an absorbent cloth. Liquid or greasy substances that have already penetrated the leather will usually disappear on their own over time. The NATURALE leather sponge wears out over time. Simply cut off any damaged areas on the sponge, and the sponge can be reused. Always use the sponge dry; never when damp or wet! Please note that the NATURALE leather sponge is only suitable for de Sede's NATURALE leather quality. Never use it on other types of leather.
Caution: Do not use wax or grease-based care products on NATURALE leather. For ballpoint pen or other stains, please consult a specialist.
