Top chef Andreas Caminada runs Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau (Grisons), which regularly appears on the list of the world's best restaurants; his partner Silvio Germann, Chef of the Year 2024, runs the Mammertsberg country estate in Freidorf (Thurgau). Both top restaurants feature sculptures by de Sede: the DS-707. How did this come about?

Andreas Caminada. "We looked at various pieces of furniture with our interior designers; when Silvio and I saw the DS-707, we both said: Hey, that's it! We were short on time, needed the sofa within four weeks, and so I looked for the direct route, went to the de Sede website to see who the CEO was, and so I called Monika Walser. Monika was delighted and told us that they could do it, which made us totally happy. We then played around with the materials a bit, even considering whether a fabric cover might have been better. Fortunately,
They don't deliver it on time—because this beautiful leather is somehow more timeless. Now we're incredibly proud—it's a clear statement for us."
